During the MERS epidemic in Saudi Arabia, hospitals had challenges with rapidly increasing patient number and need for isolation rooms. Some conventional methods were not adequate enough in the crisis, and portable air purifiers were used for aid.
Temporary isolation rooms were successfully set up by installing air decontamination units with a negative pressure kit.
