Disinfection means inactivating or destroying microorganisms on inert surfaces. Disinfection is also a form of decontamination, and can be defined as the process whereby physical or chemical methods are used to reduce the amount of pathogenic microorganisms on a surface.
There are different technologies also for direct indoor air and water treatment. The idea is to remove impurities or to use a technology to disinfect or destroy for example microbiological contamination in indoor air or water.
